This was shot sometime around 2008-2009. I don’t remember how I got permission to go up and explore the clock tower at the courthouse, but it was incredible. Although, crawling through a phalanx of dead pigeon carcasses to get there had me thinking I’d die of some rare dead bird disease.
The neatest thing I found was that the clock face was just a piece of clear glass. The translucence was due to it being painted, finger-painted obviously, with white shoe polish.
I also found out later that a local, infamous female serial killer had been housed there awaiting trial back in the early/mid-1900s and that my dad delivered the daily newspaper to her and her guard during that time.
